Biosphere Atmosphere Stable Isotope Network (BASIN)
The Biosphere-Atmosphere Stable Isotope Network (BASIN) operated within the Global Changes and Terrestrial Ecosystems (GCTE) as part of the IGBP. Funding was provided by the DOE, NASA, and NSF. BASIN and GCTE were formed to bring together those scientists at the national and international levels interested in the applications of stable isotope abundance to better understand carbon cycles scaling from cellular through regional scales. BASIN operated through networking, workshops, and symposia. Some of these workshops and products are listed below. BASIN and GCTE operated from 1984-2007.
